About Us

Esteban’s – Founded in 1974

Esteban’s was opened in 1974 by Steve and Nancy Scagnelli and was one of the very first shops in the newly built Tlaquepaque Arts & Craft Village. In the early days, Steve made all of the pottery you’d find in the store himself, shaping the heart of what Esteban’s would become.

Representing over 50 Artists and Craftsmen

Over time, the shop grew, welcoming more and more artists into the space. Today, Esteban’s proudly represents the work of over 50 artists and craftspeople—most from Arizona and neighboring Southwestern states—each bringing their own unique voice and vision to the store.

Steve and Nancy have since retired, and in 2024 their daughter, Stephanie, officially took over ownership. Stephanie is deeply committed to honoring her parents’ legacy while continuing to evolve the shop. She’s passionate about discovering new artists and thoughtfully curated, functional pieces—things meant to be used, loved, and gifted—for the home.
